Think Time and Related Parenting Strategies is a copyrighted program for group and individual treatment. This program is oriented toward helping families manage the difficulties with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder and related challenges to parenting and school performance.
The Think Time program was grown out of the frustration of witnessing too many children failing to prosper interpersonally and scholastically, and not benefiting from traditional treatment modalities or medication. Think Time and Related Parental Strategies recognized the need for non-punitive interventions that help children and young adults grow the skills necessary to overcome problems of impulse control, concentration, and difficulties meeting the daily expectations of their age either in the home or at school.
Think Time interventions are designed to integrate effective parental strategies taught to children and their families aimed at improving children's skills and children's ability to meet the expectations of their age at home and school. Think Time and Related Parenting Strategies is designed to break the cycle of dependency of the family on therapy and minimize or eliminate the use of medication treatment. This skill building program teaches and develops interventions custom fit to each individual family's needs and life styles.
In approximately nine weeks of education and family intervention parents can expect to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to better understand and take control of their child's behavior and learning difficulties to drastically improve the efficiency in which their family functions and maximize the potential achievement and success of their child.
